Happy Humpday!
After 2 months of seclusion and reflection in Mexico, I am back in NYC!
For the first time in a while, I remember why I fell in love with the energy of the city - the ambition, the passion, the hunger is palpable. Hungry people are the ones who grow, thrive, and WIN. And I love winners.
One of the commandments in The Bad Bitch Business Bible is “A Bad Bitch Shall Roll with Winners” and it’s about the importance of surrounding yourself with a community of positive, passionate, purpose-driven people who are HUNGRY TO WIN. And I don’t mean winning in the traditional sense of zero-sum “I win, you lose,” but rather winning in the sense that someone takes complete ownership over defining what “winning at life” means to them, and never settling for anything less. (Because #BadBitchesNeverSettle).
I repeatedly ask myself this question to check in if I am aligned:
What does the most powerful and authentic life look and feel like to you?
When I work with my coaching clients on this question, we often discover that what they assumed was their desired life was really just a projection of what society and everyone else told them to be and do e.g. Achieve more, get a respectable job, make more money, win awards, gain recognition, buy more things, find a partner, start a family etc. But they always feel like something is missing. Is this all there is?
Winning in life isn’t about some arbitrary timeline or comparison to what other people are doing, it’s about really sitting down with yourself and asking hard questions like:
What kinds of people and activities light me up?
What kind of work gives me joy and purpose?
Which of my strengths do I want to invest in?
What does my body need to thrive every day?
What does the most authentic version of me feel like?
And then recognizing that you have the power to take action and make any change you want today.
Winners don’t make excuses. They don’t wait until they get permission from everyone else. They create a vision, make a plan, and execute.
Sending love and strength,
